The gas turbine flowmeter is a velocity-type flow meter. When the fluid passes through the sensor, the impeller rotates due to the force of the flow, and the blades periodically cut through the magnetic field, changing the magnetic flux in the coil. This induces an electrical pulse signal proportional to the volumetric flow rate of the fluid.
